hER Story
Basically Fine was born in a season that changed our family forever.
Our daughter faced five brain aneurysms in her senior year of college. Surgery instead of graduation. But she came back. Redirected. And now she's finishing law school at Texas Tech — because that's who she is.
When people asked how she was doing, the answer was always the same:
basically fine.

Founder's Message
We raised our girls to be strong. To build a life on their own terms, under their own control. No one else required. Sherry proved that in a season that could have taken her under, and she came out the other side more herself than ever. This brand carries her story, but it was built for every woman living that same kind of strength. She's strong. She's capable. She's basically fine.
— Jake, Founder & DadThe Business Behind Basically Fine
Basically Fine is a brand of Dallas Cotton Brands LLC, a family business that started around 2017, built on years of experience teaching family and consumer science, paired with a simple need in our community. Marching bands and school organizations needed quality shirts, and we knew how to make them. From there, local businesses started asking for the same.
Dallas Cotton Brands started in embroidery, then grew into applied technologies, eventually blending both methods to offer our customers something durable and cost-effective without cutting corners. That work began in Tennessee, in the hills we still call home in spirit.
Life brought us to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, and Dallas Cotton Brands grew and changed alongside us. What started as a shirt shop for school organizations has become a technology-driven company building niche stores for the people who need them, brands like Basically Fine, built for the woman who is doing great, actually.
We build differently now, but we build the same way we always have. With care, with family, and with the belief that the right shirt can hold a story worth telling.
